Frequently Asked Questions
Questions specific to each game are at the bottom of its page. The ones below are about the site.
We do, by hand, in plain JavaScript. No game engine, no third-party library, no build step. The site's script fits in a single readable file.
Yes. Each game's daily challenge is computed from the date: the same date gives the same seed, so the same 2048 grid, the same apple route, the same Pairs deal and the same Tangram silhouette, on any device.
Yes. It is generated by assembling the seven pieces at random and keeping the outline; the arrangement that produced it is a solution. Our test suite covers every generated silhouette to verify this.
Your decision on the cookie categories and, if you accepted the “preferences” category, your best scores, your challenge streak and the last Pairs setting. None of it leaves your browser.
All four games work exactly the same, daily challenge included. The only difference: no best score is kept from one visit to the next, and the streak starts over from zero.
Open “Manage my choices” at the bottom of any page and uncheck “Preferences.” Best scores, the streak and settings are erased on the spot.
Because it isn't drawn at random: it's computed from the date. The same date gives the same seed, and the same seed gives the same challenge, on any device. No network request is needed.
Completing the daily challenge in at least one of the four games. Completing all four on the same day doesn't count four times: the streak is measured in days, not games. It breaks if a whole day goes by without a single success.
You'll get the challenge for the date your device shows. Since nothing is checked server-side, there being no server, the streak is a commitment to yourself, not a ranking to defend.
We detect them and record them in your consent record. Since no optional category is on by default, a GPC signal changes nothing about what the site does today: there's nothing to turn off.
None today. If that were to change, the advertising disclosure page already describes the rules that would apply, and advertising cookies would remain conditional on your explicit consent.
Once the page has loaded, yes: nothing more is requested from the network. We don't install a service worker, so a full reload requires a connection.
Yes, all four games included. The accessibility page lists the keys for each game, one by one.
